Inspired by early 20th-century English Countryside estate design, this home sits on an expansive wooded property, framed by an equally English-inspired garden. Brookstone was brought in at the preconstruction stage to consult on construction design and eventually the project evolved into a completely new build when the client’s preferred design couldn’t be achieved within the existing structure. To ensure authenticity, Brookstone Builders partnered with the design team, to thoroughly research traditional English countryside architecture, and then created a full-scale mockup showcasing key design details. This extra step proved invaluable, saving both time and budget during construction by clarifying materials and finishes in advance. Beneath its classic exterior, the home features advanced sustainability measures—including preparations for a future fuel cell, a sophisticated graywater system, solar power, rain water reclamation, and reclaimed wood beams and flooring—making it one of the first local projects to secure building department approval for biomass treatment.
